Why sunglasses?

For many agricultural workers, spending long hours outdoors is an essential part of daily life. While sunlight makes their work possible, it also exposes their eyes to significant amounts of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Over time, prolonged UV exposure can increase the risk of serious eye conditions, including cataracts, photokeratitis, macular degeneration, eyelid and ocular melanoma, and other vision-threatening injuries.

At Vision Mission, we believe that protecting vision is a vital part of protecting overall health and quality of life. By providing wraparound UVA/UVB-protective sunglasses to agricultural workers through farms, food banks, and community partnerships, we aim to make preventative eye care more accessible to the people who help feed our communities.

Every pair of sunglasses represents more than protection from the sun: it is an investment in health, safety, dignity, and the ability to continue working, supporting families, and enjoying a lifetime of sight.
